Michael Meier & Christoph Franz are presenting their publication Drei Geschichten, created as part of their exhibition at Zeughaus Teufen, and will give an insight into the creation process in conversation with the designers Samuel Bänziger, Rosario Florio, and Larissa Kasper.
In the exhibition Drei Geschichten, artist duo Michael Meier & Christoph Franz reconstruct a complex web of properties, legacies, and family stories, examining the effect they have on the built environment and the townscape, based on the example of the Swiss municipality of Teufen. Their artistic exploration takes place on three levels: as a multimedia experience in the museum space, as a historical analysis in the publication, and as site-specific engagement with the community’s three rivers. These three rivers played a central role as a driving force of industrialisation, as hydropower contributed significantly to the prosperity and development of the region as a location for the textile industry. This complexity of different layers reveals the deep connection between history, culture, and the environment and enables us to understand the interwoven narratives of the municipality of Teufen.
